About Doʻstobod (Soldatskiy)

Doʻstobod (Russian: Dustabad) is a town in Tashkent Region and the centre of Quyichirchiq District. Until 1991 it was called Soldatskiy, and until 1996 Askarlik; old documents and Russian-language maps still use the name Soldatskiy. The settlement was founded in 1894. Its name means roughly "place of friends".
