Road authorities in Uzbekistan no longer have to put up “Radar” warning signs before mobile speed cameras. The warning sign is now required only for stationary radars.

The change was made by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 596 of 29 October 2026. It amends Government Resolution No. 318 of 15 May 2025, “On measures to create additional conveniences for the population in the use of vehicles.” The text has been published in the National Database of Legislation (lex.uz).

The earlier rule had been in force since 1 September 2025. It required a “Radar” sign at the location of any stationary or mobile speed-control radar. A sign also had to stand between 250 and 500 metres ahead of the radar. As a result, drivers were warned in advance about every radar.

The new wording replaces the phrase “stationary and mobile radars of any type” with “stationary radars.” Signs will still be placed before fixed cameras as before, but the requirement no longer covers portable radars.

The Road Traffic Rules section on sign 5.43, “Radar,” was updated to match. It now states that the sign is placed 250–500 metres before locations where speed is monitored by stationary radars.

In practice, drivers should not assume a road is free of speed checks just because there is no “Radar” sign. Mobile radars may still be in use, so it is important to keep to the posted speed limit along the whole route.

Resolution No. 318, adopted in May 2025, introduced a number of concessions for drivers. They included changes to rules on road markings and radars. The new resolution revises the provision on radar warning signs in that document.
